The Associate of Applied Science degree in Allied Health Technology offers individuals interested in healthcare careers a well rounded general education experience coupled with training in a clinical specialty for entry into the allied health workforce upon graduation.

Upon successful completion of the programs, graduates will

  • Be capable of exercising and demonstrating basic professional and technical responsibilities (associated with a specific clinical field of study) within the workplace
  • Possess a solid foundation in general education in addition to their clinical knowledge and experience
  • Be better prepared for continuing their education at the baccalaureate level and beyond

Allied Health Technology Program Sequence

The Associate of Applied Science in Allied Health Technology is comprised of three main phases.

Phase I - Day or Evening

Complete a clinical or administrative specialty area in one of the entry level allied health professions offered at ACT College. Applicants can choose from one of four areas of allied health:

  • Medical Assisting
  • Dental Assisting
  • Medical Administrative Specialist
  • Pharmacy Technician

Phase II - Evening Only

Complete the general education requirements required for the conferral of associate degree. All students enrolled in the Allied Health Technology degree program must successfully complete the course offered or its equivalent, to progress to the final Phase of the program.

Phase III - Evening Only

Complete any electives required to ensure you have earned enough credits for the conferral of the Associate of Applied Science in Allied Health Technology. You must accumulate at least 95 quarter credits to receive the degree.
