The Associate of Occupational Science degree program requires a minimum of 97 quarter credits for completion of all requirements.
- Up to 65 credits for a diploma or certificate in Medical Assisting from an accredited program or institution
- Minimum 15 quarter credits in general education core
- Minimum 18 quarter credits in basic medical imaging and related sciences
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale for previously completed coursework at the high school or post-secondary level
- At least 51% of the credits counted toward conferral f the AOS degree must be earned at ACT College
Medical Assisting With Limited X-Ray Admissions Requirements
The AOS degree program is available to first time allied health students and graduates of approved, accredited Medical Assisting programs. At a minimum, all applicants for this program must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- 18 years of age
- U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien
- High School Diploma or GED
- Passing score on the PAR Entrance Test (not required for ACT College grads)
- Interview with Career Advisor
- $50 non-refundable application fee
- Statement of General Health
Students seeking admission from another institution may be required to complete challenge examinations or additional coursework to satisfy the curriculum requirements and equivalency for Phase I.
Graduates from other institutions that hold certificates or diplomas in the Medical Assisting discipline are required to enroll in the degree version of the program.
